As part of the PORTOS Project, MaREI Centre (University College Cork) has built a Decision Support System which was tested by INNOSEA. The system was built using opensource tools and can be accessed worldwide. The purpose of this tool is to help ports and other users to determine which type of renewable energy best suits their energy demands.
The tool calculates the electricity production, emissions, and energy comparission of all the renewables.
